yea, the more I look at it...the glare on the lower right of the image is a blast and not a sun glare of an emerging sun behind the moon. The curve of the light indicate a light radiating round and up/out. An emerging sun would be round even as it peeks out from behind since the moon has no atmosphere.

It's a magnificent poster, I think, and shows off the new Eagle, while whilst still radiating the basic shape. My vote is for a sun glare. That's not an explosion.

As far as the poster goes: Well its a poster, don't read anything into the moon being in the background.

howdy all! i have just picked up my copy of SFX, what a great suprise! so i cam over and joined. i love the poster, the contrasting sleeve, the eagle IS an eagle! i wish you all good luck with the production.

I can't express how happy I was to see that the Eagle was being included in this project. As many will agree, the Eagle was immediately recognized by the viewing public as being one of the most realistic space ships that "could have been". Still upset,to this day, that NASA hasn't gone in this direction. LOL
